Dr. Mucherera combines hands-on child welfare social work background with working with families in parenting skills in order to increase the attachment and bonding between parents and children. Advocating for services to enable parents to be individual independent and able to support self and children by providing them with parenting coping skills which the parents can utilize in their daily lives. Specialization: Attachment and bonding issues, child and brain development, adult parenting attachment styles, and prevention of child neglect/abuse. Two years University level teaching experience of Enhancing Attachment: The Foundation for Permanency with child welfare workers, group home and residential treatment centers staff, foster parents, and BSW and MSW students.

- The Parenting Coaching and SupervisTd Visitation sessions are based on the Parenting Counts Curriculum
- The Play Therapy Model which are both research based designs
- Helps with providing parents skills that are taught to child care providers on how children think, feel, and learn.
- These skills will be provided first-hand to parents in order to maximize the full-potential of their children’s development.
- The program will enhance the bonding created within the first five years of a child’s life.
- For those parents who have missed this opportunity, serving older children 6 – 18 years old, the same skills will be employed.
- This will help develop the bonding which was missed within the children’s formative years.
- Thus increasing the chances of parents bonding with their older children.
- AND forming an attachment which is conducive to reunification of families.
Welcome
Theraplay parenting coaching providing parents the skills they need to work with their children on a day to day basis. This skills assist children in following simple parent rules without throwing temper tantrums.
